Your Peace (Ahimsa) Silk garment is a rare and beautiful creation — hand spun and hand woven using cruelty-free mulberry silk. With the right care, it will remain luminous and elegant for years to come.

Dry Clean Only

All Ethique Chic Peace Silk garments are Dry Clean Only. We strongly recommend taking your dress to a trusted professional dry cleaner who has experience with delicate silk or natural fabrics. Please inform your cleaner that the fabric is hand-spun, hand-woven Peace Silk so they can treat it with the appropriate care.

⚠️ Do not machine wash, hand wash, or submerge in water. Washing silk at home — even on a delicate cycle — can cause irreversible damage including shrinkage, loss of luster, and fabric distortion.

Storage

Always hang your garment — do not fold or compress it. Peace Silk is susceptible to permanent crease lines.
If your garment was folded during transit, hang it immediately and allow the fabric to relax naturally. Reverse any remaining folds gently by hand.
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight, which can fade natural silk dyes over time.
Use a padded or silk-covered hanger to preserve the shoulder shape.
Cover with a breathable cotton garment bag — avoid plastic, which traps moisture.

Stain Care

If your garment is stained, do not attempt to spot-clean or blot with water. Bring it to your dry cleaner as soon as possible and point out the stain, including what caused it if known. Early treatment gives the best results.

Ironing & Wrinkle Care

We recommend leaving any pressing or steaming to your professional dry cleaner. If light touch-up is needed between cleanings:

Hang the garment in a steamy bathroom to allow wrinkles to relax naturally.
If you must iron, use the lowest heat setting on your iron, place a clean white pressing cloth between the iron and the silk, and work on the reverse side of the fabric only.
Never use steam directly on Peace Silk without a pressing cloth.

Handling Tips

Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, and deodorant, as these can permanently stain or weaken silk fibers.
Remove jewelry with sharp edges before wearing to prevent snags.
Keep away from rough surfaces.
